Sin sucks. Purity rocks!

Every time we sin, we are puffing nicotine into a baby’s mouth, we are throwing rocks at our brand new car, and scuffing our favorite leather purse.

We Christians often forget what we were saved from. We were saved from sin. God of infinite joy saved us from sin so that we can enjoy Him and His creator unhindered. Sin is what blocks us from pure joy. And the more we sin, the more of that joy is being taken away. Not only that, our ability to have joy is also being taken away. Like when our lungs get exposed to pollution, they slowly lose their ability to breathe, we lose our ability to enjoy God and HIs creation as we steep ourselves in sin.

“Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” Titus 2:14

Do you hate your sin? I hope you do and you are making a war on it. You cannot resort to coexisting. You must kill it or it will kill you. Do not succumb to it. Because not only does your joy depend on it, but also your eternal life!

“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4

And no enemy of God has ever made it to heaven!

Do not be deceived. Most people WON’T make it heaven. Not because they are evil, all are evil, but because they didn’t make war on evil. Yes, in a war, we lose battles time to time, but we do not stop fighting. If we ever stop our fighting against our sin and decide to make peace, that’s when we have lost the war. Do you not know that God’s election does include your continued fitting response? (Perhaps more on this later…)
