Good morning everyone,

Mark 14:36-And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Have you ever wondered why relationships struggle to see "eye to eye", or come into an agreement? We walk away from arguments wondering why the person doesn’t just agree with our desires that there can be peace between us?

But have we ever asked ourselves, should my desires always be acceptable for everyone else? Or why should other peoples desires be like mine? Well the reason we desire agreement is peace, and peace leads to mutual love, harmony, and closeness. So why do we struggle to agree with what others "will" or desires for us?

Jesus shows us that in His humanity, the struggle to agree with His Father "in the garden" was not because He didn’t love Him, but His flesh desired not to suffer!

This is why we disagree with each other and also God when we don’t come into agreement with others "will" for us. Our flesh desires to be comforted in what we want, not what others want for us, which may cause suffering. But people who never suffer to lay down their "will" to bless us, we call selfish and unloving.

However you know someone loves you when they lay aside their desires in order to please you, that usually brings a mutual peace and harmony. But we really doubt if people love us when they compromise nothing to please us.

But is it possible to prove your love to God and others by insisting on your "will"? Or do you only expect Jesus and others to sacrifice their desires for true love and peace to be possible between you?

In His Love, Ld
