What is your honest view of Christian freedom? Does your Christian faith bring you freedom or bondage?

If your understanding of Christianity is a bunch of do’s and don’ts, then it will represent bondage to you. But if you see it as a relationship with the most beautiful being, then freedom!

We associate freedom with having a choice. But true freedom transcends our choice. Here’s what I mean: When you are with someone you are in love with, do you wish you had a choice to be with another woman/man? No! If you are truly in love, you wouldn’t entertain the possibility of being with another person. So, your freedom of choice does not really matter. Because even though you have the freedom to be with someone else, you would never exercise that freedom.

A simple illustration: Some young couples think having children will infringe on their freedom. That’s only if they don’t love their children. And having had no children, they have no idea how much they will love them. If they fall in love with them as I have with mine, they would never think of children as infringing on their freedom, but rather enhancing their freedom.

That’s where Christian freedom comes from.

When you are in love with the most beautiful being in Jesus, you are free! You obey Him because you WANT TO obey Him and it brings you joy to obey Him. If obeying Jesus feels like bondage to you, you haven’t really known Jesus…

2 Cor. 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Let the Spirit reign in your soul.
