In Korea, there are many who follow false religious teachers to the point of abandoning their family and giving up their livelihood. One woman I know has cashed in her life-savings and moved to Fiji Island to follow a cult leader. 

Before judging the woman as foolish, what if the cult leader has performed a legitimate miracle? What if he healed her mom who was dying from stage 4 cancer? (I’m not saying that he did. But what if he did?) 

Even so, if he violates the word of God, then he is NOT to be followed. Can false teachers perform genuine miracles? Yes! Satan is a supernatural being, and he can empower his minions to perform supernatural acts!

“If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appear among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known “and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer.” Deuteronomy 13:1-3

In end times, there will arise false teachers performing miracles that will wow the crowd. Many will be enticed by them and follow them. For example, there are those who claimed to have gone to heaven or hell and came back to tell us about them. Are their descriptions according to the Bible? If not, ignore them. 

Treasure the word of God above all else. It is the only source of truth in the world.
