Proverbs 20:24A man’s steps are from the Lord; how then can man understandhis way?

Hearing goals and aspirations of young people can be very refreshing, and I believe should be nurtured and wisely encouraged, instead of bitterly doused with our own mistakes and pitfalls life may have presented us…
So the encouragement from a Christian, should be to strive to live out and influence a life of faith because of reality.  Really no one knows how their life is going to go from one day to the next, let alone 10-15 years from now!  So how can we understand our way in this life? (James 4:13-16)
If the Lord is the one who orders our steps, then understanding in life is never something we can strategize with any assurance of our “goals” being what we envisioned.  To say we understand what our life will be like, is to not consider who is ordering our steps…(1 Corinthians 8:2, Hebrews 11:3)
Though to some that may sound cynical, it points to the reality that “the righteous shall live by faith”, and it’s generally from looking back at what God has ordered, we understand His ways are not our ways.  The beauty of that is when we have our hearts healed and purified to see God, we understand His ways are indeed best! (Isaiah 55:8, Matthew 5:8, Romans 8:28)
In essence, to not understand our way is to point us to trust God who does.  It is a life of “growing downward” in humility to acknowledge we don’t know what we are doing, nor where we are going without God, and faith in His Word to be a lamp unto our feet.  Though not understanding our way can provoke anxiety, God desires our “blindness” to drive us to seek Him, so He can lead us to peace in His perfect love, wisdom, and direction for our lives. (Mark 8:23-26)
Continue striving to seek God in His Word, putting your trust in the One who understands us and why we’re created-In His Love, Ld
