Do not judge whether a happening is good or bad too quickly. What we consider “bad” could actually be good. God often uses apparent evil to do actual good.
“You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” Genesis 50:20
The brothers of Joseph had an evil motive in selling Joseph. But God had good intentions for that same act. So, it’s not accurate to say that God “turned” something bad to something good, but rather God meant this evil to happen that good may come out of it.
Perhaps you have experienced some evil in your life. But have you thought about how they made you what you are today? Perhaps you grew up poor. But you are more appreciative of your life (and happier) now because of your poor upbringing, even though you still have far less than a rich person. [Some of the most miserable people are those who are born rich and die rich because they never knew what it is to lack!]
When something evil happens to you, don’t immediately think this is bad. Wait and see how God might use it for your good. After all, didn’t He promise that everything will work out for our good? (Romans 8:28)
