These are some dark days. How are you doing? If I’m struggling, you must be as well…
I read these encouraging words this morning:
“Do not be afraid, Abram.I am your shield;your reward will be very great.”Genesis 15:1-3At first, I thought, “But those are words to Abraham and not me!” But I thought about why these words are in the Bible. Why is the story of Abraham in the Bible? Wasn’t it for me and you? Wasn’t it so that God will show us how faithful He has been in the past and therefore, He will be faithful to us in the latter days?
“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us.” 2 Cor. 1:20-21
Hold onto those promises. God blessed Abraham, and yet Abraham went through some dark days. But God was absolutely for him, regardless of what happened in his life.
Know that God is for you.
