Happy early Thanksgiving!
And what a Thanksgiving it is! We have to do what seems unloving for the sake of love! We, Christians, have been trained to love others by meeting face to face with one another, to dine together, to greet one another with a holy kiss, worship together, and lay hands on one another. But we have to refrain from all these BECAUSE we love one another!
It is as if we have become the source of poison and the only way to protect one another is to stay as far away from each other… Who will save us from this predicament? Jesus Christ, the only pure antidote for the poison that is in the world and in us!
“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. but endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-3And that is what an antidote feels like! Administered through the word of God! As you are, I am tired and weary, and yet when I read words like that, I get energized because even this pandemic fatigue is working toward my and your own good!
During this Thanksgiving, don’t forget to give thanks to God even for a trial like this!
