God will reward our faithful act. Always.
Hannah prayed for a son when she was barren. She promised that if God would give her a son, she would dedicate him to serve before him all his days. When God granted her prayer, she made good on her promise and sent her son, Samuel, to live with a priest and serve God all his days.
And what does God do for Hannah who made good on her promise? He gave her three more sons and two daughters. (1 Samuel 2:21)
We cannot out-give God. Whatever “sacrifice” or “gift” we have made to God, God always repays us double, triple, and quadruple. Now, please understand that I’m not subscribing to prosperity gospel that says that if you give to God, He will give you back multiple times. If we give to God in order to get something back, then we are merely using God as a vending machine. But if we give to God as an act of faith with thanksgiving, then God will show His goodness toward us in ways we couldn’t imagine (or haven’t even asked!).
As I was taking a walk in the morning and praying, God has opened my eyes to all that He has blessed me with these 8 years since we planted As One. Although there were many difficulties and heartaches, through it all, God’s been faithful and gracious to provide beyond what I could imagine for our church and my family.
Stay with God through difficult times. It will take years (not months) before you start seeing His gracious hands on you for your faithfulness.
