Some of the most atrocious things that happened in history are a sign that God will one day judge the world.
The Holocaust is an example of what God will do to those who reject Him. Please don’t hear me as saying that God is against a particular nation or a people group. (I am forever thankful for the Jews because Jesus was a Jew!) We are all sinners, equally. But if God did not spare His own nation – Israel – from the holocaust, then He will not certainly spare those who reject Him.
Reading through the book of Jeremiah, we see that God has repeatedly petitioned for His people to return to Him. Yet, they were obstinate and they did not remember the Lord. So, He had them go into exile, experience famine, become slaves and ultimately face death.
This is hard to imagine for those of us living in America in the 21st century. It is unprecedented what we are experiencing – such wealth and freedom! But if we do not turn all these blessings into praise and use them for others, then we should fear our end.
“But if in spite of this you will not listen to me, but walk contrary to me, then I will walk contrary to you in fury, and I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters.” Leviticus 26:27

How can a mother ever eat the flesh of her children? Wouldn’t she rather choose to die of starvation than to do that? Sin has so ravaged their minds that they have lost all propriety and were acting like animals…
God is an untamed lion. Fear Him. And love Him.
