What do you think of whenever you see a rainbow in the sky?
There was a rainbow out yesterday, although a faint one. It happens quite often where we live because of the rain and the sun coming out at the same time. It’s a reminder of God’s mercy and grace.
I’ve seen for the first time baptism associated with Noah’s flood in the scriptures this morning. 1 Peter 3:21 speaks of how Noah’s family surviving the flood in the ark was their “baptism.” God protected them through the waters in the ark. And Peter ultimately ties this to how Christ protected us through death on the cross.
It was because we were “baptized” that we will live. We should’ve drowned. But in His mercy and grace, He protected us through His Son enveloping us with His body. His body was crushed but we were saved…
After the flood, God made a rainbow in the sky to remind Noah’s family of His mercy and grace.
Every time you see a rainbow in the sky, remember. Remember that you should’ve died. But you are given a new life. Make the most of it for the Lord!
