God is very patient, and He will allow us to go very far wrong for very long before taking any drastic measures. So, if we are currently caught in the wrong, be patient and be faithful. God WILL come through one day and do justice.

After king David, the nation Israel deteriorates very quickly. A string of bad kings ruin the nation and they go further and further away from God. Israel is really no different than any other godless nation. Kings are jockeying for power and kill each other just to establish themselves only to be toppled over by others. They use worldly means to achieve their own end, and it seems that God just sits there and watches all this. I’m sure there were some godly people during those dark days who thought, “God, where are you? Why aren’t you acting? Why are you just watching the wicked continue to ruin our nation on the sideline? Engage!”

Sounds familiar? Modern America comes to mind, doesn’t it? I read the news and the ridiculous things that are happening to this country and I cry out to God, “How long, O Lord, before you judge us? How long will you watch us on the sideline? Engage!”

We can be sure that God will judge us. It may not come in our life time. But it may come in our children’s or grandchildren’s life time. And they will be judged according to how they have separated themselves from their evil generation.

Be separate. Do not conform to the worldly ways. Do not compare yourself to your neighbors as a measure of how well you are doing. Do pursue godliness and love more than retirement and promotion. Do sacrifice more than seek for comfort. And do this until you die. Be faithful to the end.
