You didn’t turn to God. God turned you to God. Therefore, take no credit if you are a Christian. Just be thankful that He turned you to Himself.

God tells Ezekiel to prophesy over the dry bones. When he does, the dry bones come together and become human beings again. But they had no breath. When he prophecies again, the breath comes into them and they become living.

What did the dry bones do to come together and become a body? And what did the body do to get a breath? Nothing. Nothing. God did all. The dry bones cannot do anything precisely because they are dead!

We were dead. We were like dry bones. We had no breath in us. Not the breath of the Holy Spirit, anyway. If we believe in Jesus and obtained eternal life, it’s all God’s doing. God didn’t choose us because of some good in us. If an ounce of thought exists that God selected you somehow because there was some good in you, knock that out of your head. It ain’t so!

How do we know if we stillĀ have that thought? We gossip. Why? Because we think there is something to distinguish us from those we gossip about. “Obviously, we are better than them!” We get jealous. Why? Because we think it should’ve been us who got what someone else got. “Obviously, I deserved it more!”

If you know Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, give Him ALL the credit. It was not a cooperation. It was all Him.
