Mark 8:22-24-And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?”
There are times where you can be in environments that cause you to retreat or either want to retreat from, because of the “vibe” or the mentalities of the people involved. Those environments can range from families to jobs, but there is something about the environment that can hinder you from seeing your life clearly…
Much like this blind man Jesus takes out of this village.  It’s odd that Jesus takes Him out of the village to heal Him, because Jesus is God in the flesh!  So of course He is not limited to what He can do and when.  But there must of been something about this village, that could’ve hindered this man from getting the healing he needed from Jesus…
Think about the environments you have been in, that have been good for you, and for clarity in your life?  Now think about those environments that were detrimental to your clarity?  This “village” Jesus took this man out of, could symbolize many things for us.  Our “village” could be emotional turmoil, a bad relationship, stress from work, health issues, etc.  All of these things can hinder how clearly we see our life before God, if at all because of our environment.
Jesus used blind people in scripture to symbolize our own clarity of life, and what we see as life.  Is life what we see, or what Jesus the Living Word reveals?  Because like this man, we could be in an environment or “village” that we need to get out of, in order to see clearly.  Like Jesus, we must retreat to the Father to pray for clarity, communing with Him through His Word, that we see clearly Him as Life (Mark 8:24-26).
In His Love, Ld
