Hebrews 10:35-36-Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
When you think about what pushes us to endure, it generally is the “promise” that if we keep going and doing what is right there will be a reward.  The idea of “quitting” comes into our soul when we feel like what we are working for is not paying off.  But the first question we must ask ourselves is, are we doing what is right?  Because we can’t have confidence in a promising result if we are not doing what is required…
For instance if you are trying to get in shape, we may be working out and getting enough sleep, but be very slack in our diet.  It will be that component of a poor diet, that erodes our confidence that we are doing what is required for promising results.  Deceiving ourselves that we will inherit the promise of being in great shape!
It is inescapable that in order to endure physically and spiritually, confidence is the key link in doing so.  Which means our walk with God should have with it, a confidence that I am living to inherit the promises of God.  So we confront the things in our life that derail our confidence to receive such promising results.  We cannot be confident that we will inherit the promises of God, if we are not submitted in our heart to God!
Yes, the blood of Jesus was shed for our sins.  But if we do not build on the foundation of what Christ did, where we find true confidence before God, we will live completely insecure in what we are doing for God!  So what we do as works for God, may not be the will and heart of God if we are still insecure before Him? (1 John 3:19-22)
To be insecure with God is to be “out of step” with His heart in sin and disobedience of some kind.  No amount of “works” will ever be able to replace obedience and submission, because works cannot cleanse our insecure conscience before Him! Faith to submit and endure His will, honors the bloodshed of Jesus Christ, so we can live confident and expectant of inheriting His promises! (Hebrews 10:19-25)
