Ponder what a deathless world would be like. A world in which no one ever dies..

There would be no crimes. Since you can’t hurt anyone, it would be useless to try. There would be no doctors, hospitals, police, military, since none of these are necessary. (No war!) No one absolutely has to work since you don’t have to put food on the table to survive. Whole hordes of disciplines and industries would disappear. For example, banking. No one needs to save up any more! Even religion is not necessary since most religions popped up because people were afraid of death. No funerals. No cemeteries. No more nursing homes. No more saying goodbyes. No more worries about the future…

There are only two places where this is true. One is heaven. The other is hell! Imagine being surrounded by people and things you hate, and they will be there forever. Or you have an incurable disease of some sort that pains you greatly, and you cannot die even if you want to!

But eternal LIFE that Jesus refers to in the Bible is the life in heaven – Where death has finally died and the life we couldn’t even dream of becomes ours. And what made this a reality? It is Christ’s resurrection! He rose from the dead, beating death at its own game, and He will give eternal life to anyone who would believe in Him and love Him.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25)

Jesus’ resurrection changes everything. Just as when death entered humanity, it changed everything. Jesus’ resurrection, essentially declaring that He has control over death, changes everything.

What if we lived the rest of our lives on earth truly believing that we will never die? How would it be different? How would our spending be different? What about our worries? What about where we spend our time?
