1. What stories do you have to tell the next generation that will challenge and encourage them to follow the Lord? Has God done something for you and through you that the next generation would be inspired by? If they followed your footsteps, how satisfied would you be?

Psalm 145:4-5
One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.

I desperately desire my children and their children to see what God has done through me and my wife and how faithful He was to us. I want to take certain risks such that if God was not with us, we would fail. Then seeing God’s faithfulness, I want to declare that to the next generation so that they will also want to follow Him.

Our job as parents, or even as singles, is to pass the baton to the next generation so that they will continue to run the race we’ve been running. But as you and I both know, human beings won’t do things continually unless they are delighted and inspired to do them. What will give them that vision of God? What will keep them following the Lord when things get difficult for them? Our example!

Keep following the Lord.
Take the road less traveled.
Resist the temptation to quit.
There is light at the end of the tunnel – God predestined you before the foundation of the world!
