Psalm 86:11-Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name.

Usually when we say we want to know a person the more we ask questions focusing on the things they like and don’t like, trying to gain a sense of compatibility.  Seems simple, but knowing those things usually doesn’t create the kind of security and depth we desire in true relationships.

Usually the way we grow to express our love in a way a person senses that security from us, is that we go beyond what they like and don’t like, to learn what hurts them.  The more you know what hurts a person, if you truly love them, the more you avoid trying to do it!

When a person doesn’t care to acknowledge the pain they have caused you, there won’t be true security, because you can’t trust that they won’t cause that pain again.  A sensitive heart to what hurts people repents, forgives, and becomes more sensitive to the pain they have caused.  True love grows to be more sensitive and compassionate, pride hardens to become more cold.

Ask yourself where is my heart towards Christ?  Am I more sensitive to resist sin and share in His sufferings because I know it grieves HIs heart?  Or am I dismissive of the pain I cause Him by justifying and rationalizing my sin?  Chances are if you are insensitive to your sin before Christ, you are insensitive to the pain you are causing in other relationships.  Unite your heart to God, Who is Love, that you can be able to express it!
