1 Corinthians 3:2I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready,

There are times with God where we desire something and get frustrated that something is not transpiring the way we hoped, in the time we hoped for it.  We might be making the wrong conclusion that we are ready to handle what we’re trusting God for, but are we?

As Christians we can struggle with trusting the gospel for our own guilt and condemnation, with ideas of not feeling “worthy” of God’s love and blessings.  So what is strange is how we can have such immature unbelief, but then think we are mature enough to handle more of something we have set our hopes out for?  What makes us think highly of ourselves to receive more from God when we want something? But at the same time not be mature enough to apply what we already know?

The apostle Paul is dealing with a church that enjoys the spiritual gifts given by God, but will not apply God’s truth for unifying them for Christ purpose in the church.  They want more of one thing, yet prove through their disunity they are not ready for it.

Test yourself whether God is holding things up for you?  Whether it’s in personal growth, relationships, career opportunities, etc., usually it’s because we refuse to apply what we already know.  We end up proving we’re not ready for more of God and what He has planned for us at this time.

In His Love, Ld
