Many have asked, “If God is all powerful and loving, why does He allow bad things in my life?” But I have yet to be asked, “If God is all powerful and holy, why does He allow good things in my life?”

God, being so holy, loving, and majestic and we, being so unholy, selfish, and ugly, why shouldn’t He wipe us out? I certainly would have if I were God and I was dealing with such creatures as myself…

The very fact that you and I are breathing and reading (writing for me) this devotional is proof that God is merciful. (Not to mention you are very rich by the world’s standard – Aren’t you reading this on a computer, smart phone, tablet, etc?) Imagine if He were a ruthless dictator with no mercy and has no regard for human beings. Or worse, He were some sadistic master who gets pleasure out of torturing the creatures He made (Like little boys with frogs….).

“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32

And then God made us to have children so that we would know how He feels about His own Son, Jesus. And yet, He rescued us and let His Son drown. Better yet, He took His Son’s breath away and put it into us so that He would stop breathing and we would keep breathing….

I know many of you are suffering. God is treating you like His sons and daughters. He is treating you like He treated Jesus. He loved Him more than anything and yet His will was for Him to die on the cross.

He loves you more than anything. Yet His will for you might be to suffer. He’s treating you like Jesus…

What is the result? “And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church.” Eph. 1:22

You and I will rule over the new heavens and the new earth! (Don’t try to visit every exotic place before you die. You will have plenty of chances to visit them AFTER you die when they are much improved!)

Suffer well.
