Good morning everyone

Luke 8:23-and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger.

Even though Jesus is asleep, His presence is there in the midst of danger. Many of us may think danger is a sign of Jesus not being there, when really the test of our love and trust in the Lord is confirmed by faith, which pleases Him! Faith is what proves love, and there is no better place to test our faithulness than in a world where sin has bred nothing but danger all around us.

Yet this was an opportunity for the disciples to see present danger overcome by faith. Faith realizes the presence of Christ, but just as important it is an opportunity to know Him and trust in His character. Growing to know His character helps us believe and know that He will not allow the situation to overcome our faith, even though we cannot deny our fear in what were facing.

Jesus not only wanted to test their faith in a "storm", but also test how they saw Him as God. What are the questions we ask ourselves about Jesus in "storms"? "Are You trustworthy?" Don’t You care about what might happen to me from this!?" The storm is not only about having faith to get through it, but about personal security in the character of Christ in all storms of life!

Let Him prove how much He loves you by learning to trust Him in a storm. So we can give people the kind of hope in Christ from the things we survived, when we thought He would let us perish!

In His Love, Ld
