To be lonely is to be human. If you are lonely, it only goes to show that you were made for more than what you are experiencing right now. You were made to have a relationship with God.

The lonelier you feel, the more intensely you are desiring this relationship with God. You are longing to become complete. And God alone can complete us.

God is using loneliness to draw us to Him…

This means, you can be happily married and be lonely. Your spouse can only fill so much of the infinite depth of your loneliness.
You can mask it off and forget about it for a moment by drinking, carousing, surrounding yourself with people, but it will rise to the surface again.
You can pursue the love of your life to complete you, but will find out soon why it won’t end in “And they lived happily ever after.”

Do you hear the cries of the lonely hearts?

Young people dancing the night away hoping that it won’t follow them home.
Newly marrieds who think they made a mistake because their counterpart won’t understand them completely.
Middle aged men filling the bars and drinking themselves to stupor.
Young women jumping from relationship to relationship looking for “the one.”
Older couples who resent their spouse because after all those year, they haven’t been able to change them…

John 17:21, “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

Only God knows you as you want to be known. Seek HIm!
