Good afternoon everyone,

Mark 4:38-But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

If you have been a Christian for awhile then you have experienced some test from the Lord. But at the same time we like to wonder why are we having hardships and struggles? But I think wondering like that tells me more about my misunderstanding of what being a Christian is. It could cause us to question whether God is compassionate over our tests?

Well, the disciples show us that we are all prone to question if God cares, especially when it looks like we are going to drown in our "storms"! 66Jesus rebuked them for not realizing that not only is He asleep on the boat during the storm, but He told them to get into the boat in the first place! Jesus rebuked the disciples for not trusting in Who He is, that if He leads us to a place He is faithful to preserve us. Jesus rebuked them for thinking that He is unfaithful, or cruel for leading them into a storm to die!

This feeling that we all have felt before in tough test from the Lord was to show our wicked unbelief and His faithful mastery over our storms! Test of faith are supposed to show us we can’t handle the life of Christianity without a sincere faith and love to Jesus, really trusting that He will never leave us nor forsake us. This will change our question of "why" in our struggles, into hopefully prayer and faith, bringing us closer and more mature in our relationship with Jesus.

In His Love, Ld
