Good afternoon everyone,

Ephesians 1:11-12-In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory

As summer comes upon us, we make plans with our family and friends looking for ways to enjoy them and the destinations we set out to explore together. Yet we almost never think to make plans to go to a destination with people we don’t have close relationships with. Having no desire to make plans with family and friends to enjoy them, could indicate how we presently feel about our relationships, if there is one at all?

This is why as Christians we cannot separate doing work for Jesus as a substitute for being in love with Jesus. "Faith works by love" and if there is no desire to actually do the will of God, we must ask ourselves do we love God? The reason I would resist going on a journey with the Lord to do His will and endure the struggles of personal sin and other people, might be because I love myself more than Him?

Salvation or deliverance is an on-going work of God experienced in us to root out all sin, in order to live for His praise and glory and not our own (Philippians 2:12). The root of sin is selfishness, which Christ paid for us to be delivered out of! Worship God and work out your salvation. Continue to face and fight against the signs of selfishness that provokes us to resist enjoying Him and experiencing His plan for us.

In His Love, Ld
