Can we have joy and sorrow at the same time?

Not according to the world. Either you are joyful or your are sad at one time. If things go your way, then you are joyful. But if things don’t go your way, then you are sad…

But being a Christian is being able to experience joy and sorrow all at the same time and those in greater degrees (Our joys are greater and our sorrows are also greater)

How? We feel joy knowing that we are in God and He is in us. We already have the greatest Treasure guaranteed for us (Imagine U.S. Treasury will put $1 trillion in your bank account when you turn 65!)

But we also at the same time feel sorrow over the condition this world is in. How this world doesn’t know Jesus and thus is missing out on the greatest treasure of knowing God and being one with Him.

In other words, Christians’ hearts are enlarged to contain both joy and sorrow at the same time. That is God’s heart. That was Jesus’ heart. He talked of joy, but He wept also.

“My kingdom is not of this world… my kingdom is from another place.” John 18:36

Want joy? Fix your mind upon Christ and His glory, love, honor… All that is yours. Then, think upon the condition of this world. Your heart should break. They need Jesus like you need Jesus.

Find your joy in Christ so that you may minister to those who are in sorrow. (Which your tender heart also feels…)
