Good afternoon everyone,

Ephesians 6:13-Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

I think we all have felt the pressure in life to make visible progress no matter how young or old we maybe. The ambition to want to show people "how far we have come" can make us feel like a failure if we don’t have all the visible attributes of "making it" looks like. For you it maybe a spouse, a new house, nice car, children, prestigious title, that makes you feel like achieving these things is progress.

But it is ironic that you can have all these things and never progress as a person. To be mature enough to forgive, handle jealousy, find constructive ways to curb anger, love unconditionally, and etc, all take progress that is virtually unseen.

The apostle Paul speaks to us concerning the reality of evil against us and within us. The need for "armor" against evil sets the battle of our lives not out in the open where we are tempted to impress everyone, but in secret, alone dealing with ourselves. But standing firm in faith is progress! You may not be progressing for everyone to see. But when standing in faith you are progressing in Christ, and that is what will stand when everyone and everything else fails to give the true satisfaction that only the love of Christ can give.

In His Love, Ld
