Good morning everyone,

3 John 1:2 -Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

I know for me as a husband and father I’ve been given a sense of responsibility from the Lord to be the best steward I can possibly be over my family. So when a husband takes his wife out or buys things for his kids it is that expression of wanting all to "go well" with them or prosper in the practical joys of love and life. But is that it? And if I would be satisfied with just my temporary gifts to them, what does that say about my understanding of where true happiness resides?

I certainly enjoy having the opportunity to share in the temporary blessings of this life with my wife and kids, I look forward to them. But I realize more than ever before that if me and my families soul is not prospering, then eventually the ugliness of our sin will take over and temporary blessings will not be enjoyable at all.

So what is to be the priority? Christ died for us to come out of the bondage of sin that we can enjoy life with Him and the blessings He has given us. That is why He calls us to repent of our sin to get this "cursed soul issue" out of the way, so that we can go on and really enjoy true life in Him. So what is keeping your soul from prospering? Without a prospering soul, a decaying soul will spoil any temporary blessings you have in due time.

In His Love, Ld
