Good morning everyone,

1 Corinthians 13:5-Love…..It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

I think we all realize that to bring a resolution to an argument, at least one of the people involved must not “insist on it’s own way”. But that can be very difficult. Because to argue both people disagree but both believe they are right. But regardless of who is right, godly love won’t insist on it, because genuine love isn’t full of pride but peaceful truth.

If our heart insist a person agree with us, we are not looking to be justified in Christ but the pride of being right. Because like Christ, He never insisted on people to believe, He invited people to believe because He was already justified before God, which made Him 100% right in love.

Who are you irritated by or resentful with because you demand things to be your way? The first person maybe God, because we insist on doing what we want, and find no peace but problems in our way. It maybe a spouse, friend, or family member who doesn’t agree with you and may never agree with you. But what matters is whether your argument is in Christ and His truth, if it is you won’t need anyone else to agree, only God. His opinion should matter enough to check our argument with His word, and not allow hidden resentment to be the center of our relationships.

In His Love, Ld
