How do you really feel about Jesus? Admiration? Reverence? Apathy? Love?

I’m ashamed to admit how often I forget the most important thing in life. The very purpose for which I’m created. That is to love Jesus with all my heart!

“The Lord says: These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up of rules taught by men.” Isa. 29:13

Loving Jesus doesn’t just mean doing the things that please Him. It means to delight in Him, to treasure Him, to crave Him, to behold His beauty!

That is the most important question: Do you love Jesus?

If answered positively, it will solve our sin problem, our marriage problem, our insecurity problem, our loneliness problem…

If a private investigator were hired to secretly follow you around for a week, what would he conclude your loves are?

I thought about my life and wondered what he would conclude. Media? Gadgets? Jesus?

Just before Jesus left the earth, he had one last meeting with Peter, the most important figure in church history. And He asked him only one question. But it was so important that He asked him that same question three times in a row.

“Simon Peter, Do you love me?” John 21:15,16,17

If you do not have love for Jesus, ask God to grant you that love. It cannot be manufactured. It must come from God.
