Have you thought deeply about why some people succeed and some don’t?

Of course there are all kinds of books written on this subject. Many business books as well as self-help books.

Most will address these as the common factors for success:
– Vision
– Innovation
– Hard Work
– Right people
– Perseverance
– Integrity

But success in whose eyes?

Listen to this passage as the ONLY reason for success:
Ps. 75:6, “No one from the east for the west or from the desert can exalt a man. But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.”

Bill Gates is the richest man on earth not because of his own doing but because of God. (Who gave him his IQ and the opportunity?)
Justin Bieber is the most celebrated teen not because his own talent but because of God. (Who gave him his talent?)
Your boss is your boss not because he’s smarter but because of God. (We knew this!)

If we truly understand this, then there would be no reason to envy those who are successful nor feel badly about ourselves because we are not.

Besides, the way God determines who is a success or not is entirely different than the world.

Who are successful in God’s eyes?
1. Those who are obscure.
2. Those who are weak and poor.
3. Those who are helpless and unknown

Don’t agree? Read Matt 5:3-10. Better yet, consider who Jesus was to most Jews during His time…

So, how to be successful? Be like Jesus. Have God’s standard on success rather than world’s standard.
