If you ever thought that using such language as “being in love with God” is sissy talk, you should read David’s psalms.

He was a man’s man. He knew war. He knew death. He caused quite a few. He lead armies on possible missions. He was more of a man than anyone of us could claim…

But when you listen to him talk about the Lord, there is such tenderness and intimacy. Perhaps, that’s why God called him a man after His own heart because that’s exactly how Jesus was…

For example, “One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

All David wanted to do was to be with the Lord. Just like a teenager, who is head-over-heel in love, wants to spend all his time with the beloved, David wants to spend the rest of his life in the house of the Lord – the temple.

But have you ever thought that we have it better than David?

When David wanted to be with God, he had to go to the temple, but with us, we are the temple, and thus the temple comes with us!

The Lord is with us all the time!

Spend some quality time with Him today if you haven’t already. In the end, that is the only thing that will matter…
