Hi, guys,

I’m still reading through the book of Romans these days. I can’t wait to hear from you guys and learn from what God is teaching you these days. Maybe in another week or so, I’d like you to take turns each day sharing what you are gleaning from your daily devotions. Until then, Eldie and I will take turns sharing daily.
Here’s what I got out of what I meditated today: What our heart believes, our mouth speaks.
Romans 10:8, “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Do you see the repeated pattern of mouth and heart? Basically, what Paul is saying to the Romans is that whatever our heart truly believes, that is what our mouth will speak.
So, let’s examine what our mouths speak. What DOES your mouth speak? Let me ask a poignant question: What percentage of your conversation with your best friends revolve around God and His Kingdom?
Making you feel guilty or proud was not my intention. But what our mouths speak about DOES reveal our hearts. The point is not to change what we speak about – that’s behavior modification, but what our hearts believe. And it can only be done by allowing what Christ has done for us to take root and blossom. Jesus died for you and me. We are that evil! Yet, He made us His children and gave us eternal life!!!
Whatever frustration we feel today will dissolve one day. Whatever dissatisfaction, sadness, depression, insecurity we feel will dissipate only because of what Christ has done for us. Therefore, rejoice!
Have a great weekend!
