Now that our family is getting back to a consistent schedule I wanted to challenge myself to pray harder for our team and be more of an encouragement to us.  So I’m going to try and send something once a week for you to know my heart and what I am praying for as a team.  I’m trying to put a title on it, “While On the Way”, which is a habit of mine for things I do (like some of the corny poems for Ange I’ve tried to write).  But I hope they become helpful
“While On The Way”
Week of October 10th Launch Week!

1 John 1:5-10

 

5  This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

 

“While on the way” I realize there is a need for me to be ruthlessly conscious of my own sinfulness, which is not for me to wallow in, but to maintain dependence and humility in the mercy of Christ alone.  As we look to fulfill the vision of our spiritual formation (The Wheel-personal devotion, family, outer community, etc) what draws me to a consistent devotional life is the mercy I need for the sinfulness of my heart.  I know that if I don’t bring my sinful heart to God regularly I can’t possibly love people as I ought.  My prayer for us this week is to remember that to deny our sinfulness is to deny His goodness (vs8-10) and His ability to make us right!  I praise God for our team and our individual personalities in it.  I pray that we continue to strive for unity and joy for Christ sake, each other, and the people He brings us!  In His Love-Ld
